BACKGROUND
Cigarette toxins from smokers get transmitted to infants through touch, as the infants’ skin is thinner and can easily absorb the toxins. Many researches conducted globally found cigarette toxins in babies under 13 months of age, in their urine and hair, even when their parents smoke outside the house. Babies and toddlers can absorb the harmful chemicals simply from hugging their mothers after they have a cigarette. And these chemicals affect the health condition of the babies in greater extent than adults.
